Haiti Aid?

by John Vodila

thetruthnews.info

Misery and lack of aid continues from Jan 12th 7.0 quake.

Earthquake survivors kept from aid and camps built for them.

Haiti Shock Doctrine

Over four months later more than 49,000 Haitian refugees live in make shift shelters with overflowing portable toilets and lack the basic services while right across from there camp sits a guarded camp with toilets, tents and shower facilities unused, slowly dilapidating before their eyes.

Although the Haitians have received some aid they have had to rely mostly on their fellow Haitians for any real relief while their land has been militarized and invaded by the US and UN forces said to be there to enforce law and order as they turn and hold back real aid to the people.

Former defense minister of Haiti said- “we don’t need soldiers there is no war here.”

The status quo remains in tact, despotism of the highest order and repression of the Haitian people. Democracy is on the march in Haiti . If we could figure out a way to make guns and ammunition edible no one in the world would ever go hungry.

The fact remains Haiti is the most deprived nation in the western hemisphere and is and has been occupied, the war/disaster profiteers are the only ones benefiting while the people drown in a never ending flowing river of blood and tears as usual.

The Truth About Haiti…Send money to Bush and Clinton for Haiti… Is this a sick joke?

Here are a couple of remarks made after the Haiti donors conference-

U.S. Offers $1.15 Billion for Haitian Recovery

Mar 31 2010- Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said…

“This money will go toward supporting the government of Haiti’s plan to strengthen agriculture, energy, health, security and governance,” Clinton said, as well as for cooperation with civil-society groups, private businesses, nongovernmental organizations and Haitian citizens. She added that U.S. assistance will also seek to empower Haitian women, which “will fuel the long-term economic recovery and progress not only for them but for their
families.”

March 31 2010- Secretary General of the United Nations said…

“Today, the international community has come together dramatically in solidarity with Haiti and its people. President Preval’s rendezvous with history has come to pass. By their actions this day, the friends of Haiti have acted far beyond the expectation. We can report very good news. The member states of the United Nations and international partners have pledged $5.3 billion U.S. dollars for the next two years and $9.9 billion in total for the next three years and beyond.”

Maybe the leaders, rulers, elite or whatever they are called these days should listen to this audio because as usual they are completely out of touch with reality, or so it seems.

Billions donated (squandered) already.

There has been billions donated from international community the stats can be viewed here and here

Naomi Klein the author of The Shock Doctrine said…

“We have to be absolutely clear that this tragedy — which is part natural, part unnatural — must, under no circumstances, be used to, one, further indebt Haiti and, two, to push through unpopular corporatist policies in the interest of our corporations. This is not conspiracy theory. They have done it again and again.”

Max Blumenthal an investigative journalist, columnist and documentary filmmaker said on the Thom Hartmann program …

“In 2004, when the national press corps failed to report the American hand in the coup that overthrew Haitian President Jean Bertrand Aristide, I embarked on a long and exhaustive investigative report on role of right-wing operatives in Washington and Haiti in toppling the government. My report, which I just discussed on the Thom Hartmann Show, is also the story of how lawmakers in Washington — including President Bill Clinton, who forced Aristide to sign free trade agreements that would destroy the rural economy as the condition for returning him to power — undermined Haiti’s capacity to support a viable governing structure. Not surprisingly, we are seeing the corporate sweatshop owners that Clinton and others had posited as the future stewards of Haiti’s economy fire their employees en masse and flee the country for safer environs instead of helping out.”

The US has our fifth largest embassy in the world in Port-au-Prince Haiti.

What is going on here?

Is it control of the deep water ports , the oil reserves of Haiti, a strategic military spot on the globe, the sweat shops and cheap labor for big corporations? Maybe it’s all of it but one thing for sure is the Haitians are at the bottom of the totem pole in this impoverished country and just like New Orleans and every disaster the billions of dollars are going to someone and its not the people as always.
