Obama’s Oil Spill VS Bush’s Katrina

by John Vodila
thetruthnews.info

I hear so many ludicrous comparisons these days by the talking large mouths, “and we all know who they are” comparing the gulf oil disaster to car accidents, plane crashes, a percent of a drop of oil in your bath tub etc, they don’t want anything to change the status quo and they are being paid millions to make sure of it.

Hurricane Katrina

What most don’t understand it wasn’t the hurricane it was the failure of the levies that wiped out New Orleans, Katrina missed New Orleans where it was equivalent to a category 2 hurricane.

Expert Dr. Ivor van Heerden who was fired warned the levees would break said…

“The Bush White House did nothing about the levees, despite warning after warning.
Why? A hurricane is an Act of God. But a levee failure is an Act of Bush — of the federal government. Under the Flood Control Act of 1928, once the levees break, it’s Washington’s responsibility to save lives — and to compensate the victims for lost homes and lost loved ones.”

The levees were a disaster waiting to happen and the state and federal governments had known this for decades.

At least 1,836 people lost their lives in Hurricane Katrina and never received the federal aid promised, instead the ones that were left to drown that didn’t, were rounded up and carted off to camps in Texas and other areas to fend for themselves.

Let’s Give credit where credit is due.

The BP oil is not Obamas Katrina, it is Bush and Cheneys Katrina. Has everyone already forgotten the damages caused to our country we are living today are mostly from the eight years of the big oil, big corporation and war boys Cheney and Bush?

Have they gotten away with all their crimes? Sadly it appears so.

Have we forgotten the record profits the big oil companies enjoyed such as Exxon in 2007 at a forty billion dollar record profit for 2007 while the economy and citizenry were damaged to the point of no return by four and five dollar a gallon gasoline and rising cost of everything because of it?

Have we forgotten about Cheneys secret energy meetings (BP was there) prior to 911 that are still held secret from we the people as of date, where they were planning on what they were going to do with the oil of Iraq and Afghanistan all the while Cheney was still on oil and gas company Halliburtons payroll as CEO.

How about Bush’s legislation to lift all bans on offshore shore drilling and basically giving the oil companies free reign.
“Drill Baby Drill”.

As anyone that reads my writings and rants knows I am in no way shape or form a Obama supporter and in fact I am a proud so called “Birther”.

This is about truth.

I had sometime before Obama was put into office as president replied on a pro Obama blog where most the comments had been stating in so many delusional words, it was going to be like magic when Obama becomes president, the next day everything in the world would be OK and the so called “change” would be almost instantaneous.(There were many people that really believed this.)

I posted a comment on this blog and I believe it to pertain to what I am writing here today. I am going by memory but it went something like this.

“Don’t get your hopes up too high”This way you don’t have such a long way to fall, even if Obama gets the office of president of the US, the presidents power is limited by the real one’s in charge, remember it takes eight to ten years to see the effects of an administration, there is a delay. It is not like everything instantaneously changes as soon as a president comes into office. For example it has been eight years of Bush and we are just now beginning to live the effects of this administration.” (end comment)

In this writers opinion we are and will be living until somewhere around 2016 the Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld nightmare, from eight years of big oil, big corporation and the big military industrial complexes monopoly on corruption that doesn’t even blink an eye at destroying everything in it’s path for power, profit, and greed. And in 2016 in my opinion “that is if there is still a world left” we will begin to see the effects of the Obama administration, and those effects will be the status quo, more government , more control, more taxes and a never ending state of servitude to the giant monster we have all had a part of growing, “The GOVERNMENT”.

If you are a fellow American and you want to blame somebody, look in the mirror, that is what I do, for we have only ourselves to blame.

There are reports as of now 6/22/2010 that there is a possibility of a giant methane gas explosion from the sea floor in the Gulf, there is a huge bulge and experts are saying that if this thing blows it could wipe Florida off the face of the earth. Maybe this is why Obama is stopping all drilling in the gulf I don’t know. What I do know is if this does happen and he did nothing in advance to evacuate and warn the people of this fact then it would become Obama’s Katrina tenfold.

Katrina and our government.( Couldn’t be a better plan).

1/1/2007

thetruthnews.info

For the people by the people? Do we the people of the United States of America even have a government? All I can see is a bunch of thugs, a mob based monopoly of thieves and liars stealing the American dream and spending our hard earned money on waging pointless wars and creating a police state to subdue us into slavery.

Well, I will get to what I originally was going to write about now, that is a whole other issue.

Katrina and New Orleans, the lost and forgotten people and place, and how our government (if you want to call it that) with all their private contractors and buds have made a bundle off the misery of the poor and helpless, just like Iraq.

This has really turned into quite a profitable buisness for them, all these wars and disasters, you know!

With the real cost of the Iraq War to american taxpayers at $195 million per day based on the Department of Defense obligation data for fiscal year 2005.Exon Mobile profits at $75,000 a minute.

Yet we can’t take care of our own tax and insurance paying folks here.

I don’t care if you are pasty white, black, yellow, green, or purple. You get the point. If you are an American you should be #1, at least we used to be.

Now here is my theory:

You have to think outside of the box now. This is not a race issue like some think. Hear me out, please.

This is a big, huge, money issue. The rich and powerful are taking from the poor… this is what they have stooped to.

Don’t think for one second that all these billions of tax and donation dollars have disappeared just like in Iraq. Do you really think they don’t know were the money is? Sure, some has been stolen by small time thieves but not billions. They have the money and they are not interested in getting the poor back in New Orleans.

Some say the actual amount squandered is around $200 billion. The perfect plan… disperse the people all over the country, stash the billions for the plan and create laws and deadlines that will be impossible to meet. Such as all homes will have to be raised 10 feet and properties will have to be cleaned up etc.

They know there is no way these poor people will be able to do this, and most don’t even know that they have a deadline on their homes and property. Oct. 29 2007 eminent domain kicks in. Then guess who owns New Orleans.

It is the perfect plan. Now the government comes in with the billions and either fills the land, which is probable, because it will be the easiest way to cover the toxic waste everywhere and or repair the levee system.

They , Halliburton etc., with our missing billions will come in and rebuild. You know for the rich… condos, casinos and resorts . It’s going to be beautiful (for the rich) and in the mean time the media, talk radio and the government have everyone wrapped up and divided as usual.

The american people are so easily fooled with this race card, left, right, democrat, republican, red, blue… its pathetic!

And they are stealing New Orleans and everybody is falling for it. Hurricane Katrina is estimated to be responsible for $75 billion (2005 US dollars) in damages, making it the most costly hurricane in U.S. history. So hmmm, I am no math wizard but, and I may be wrong, isn’t there a thousand millions in a billion? This may not be exact, but should be pretty close. Six days of the Iraq war at $195 million equals approximately 1 billion so this means 450 days of the Iraq war would fix New Orleans! Hmmm. And I am not including the billions donated.

New Orleans will be fixed, just not for the families that have lived there for generations!

Now I know some say, forget about fixing New Orleans because it is 20 feet below sea level. Well I say fix the levees that had been working there since 1776 and get those people home"NOW".

Are we going to say abandon everywhere there are disasters. Look at the floods and the tornado prone areas, we would have to abandon a third of the U.S. In my opinion, this whole issue is a hostile take over of the poor americans land. The facts support this opinion.

Just look at New Orleans now, the money has not gone where it should have gone. Where did it all go? During 2005, donations to human-services organizations rose by 28 percent, to $25.4-billion 36 percent of all 2005 disaster relief donations went to human service organizations in response to the Gulf Coast hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Over seventy countries pledged monetary donations or other assistance in response to hurricane Katrina. Kuwait made the largest single pledge, $500 million; other large donations were made by Qatar ($100 million), India, China (both $5 million), Pakistan ($1.5 million), and Bangladesh ($1 million). Around $170 million of in-kind donations were given in response to hurricanes Katrina and Rita by individuals, corporations and foundations.

The majority of these donations consisted of food, clothing, and medical supplies. The majority of donations received for hurricane relief were spent on feeding and sheltering evacuees, and direct financial assistance, some of which continues to this day.

Taxpayers around the nation who urged the federal government to pay for relief and reconstruction after hurricane Katrina probably didn’t expect their money to be spent on $279 meals, $2,500 tarps and let’s not forget how everything is transported. The trucking industry (which I know for a fact) were paying big bucks, try $5 per mile and $900 per day when the truck is sitting with all the ice melting and food rotting because nobody knows what the heck is going on. Alot of these trucks were just standing by for up to 3 weeks at $900 per wasted day.

But according to a newly released report, corporations hired by the federal government have not only inflated costs but committed labor abuses and delayed the reconstruction process, making millions while local companies and workers have been left behind.

One big flaw in the “it’s the state’s problem” theory is that a big chunk of the federally allocated money is going into the pockets of federally contracted businesses. And these people are doing to the Gulf what they are doing to Iraq.

And what about the insurance companys?(what a joke) In an exclusive interview with ABC news, that was broadcast on 20/20 and World News, the Rigsby sisters say they saw "widespread" fraud at the State Farm offices in Biloxi and Gulfport, Miss. "Katrina was devastating, but so was State Farm," says Cori Rigsby. At one point, they say State Farm brought in a special shredding truck they believe was used to destroy key documents. State Farm says shredding is standard to protect policyholders’ privacy. Everybody has insurance hassles to deal with or FEMA stories to tell.

"There is a vast amount stuck between Washington and the folks on the ground who need it," says Rep. Charlie Melancon (D) of Louisiana, who represents St. Bernard Parish, where almost every home was sullied by floodwaters. "Congress has authorized the money, but the agencies are not spending it.

" I bet we will see New Orleans come back quickly after Oct. 29 2007 when the eminent domain is enforced.

In the mean time, they will be fixing things like bridges and highways to keep the unknowing believing they are doing right by the people.

I pray for the people of New Orleans and it just rips my heart out to hear all this race propaganda when it really has nothing to do with race. It is the money and the power.
